Mesa Independent: Dr. Valdes joins Hedley Orthopaedic

Physician Group of Arizona Inc. on July 14 announced the addition of Dr. Mauricio A. Valdes, M.D., to the Hedley Orthopaedic Institute, which provides orthopaedic care and sports medicine services throughout the Valley including at a Mesa location. Dr. Valdes focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of neck and back pain diseases, along with their causes and effects. Some examples include arthritis, disc herniation, degenerative disc disease, spinal deformities and scoliosis, tumors and infections. His treatments include steroid injections and minimally-invasive and complex reconstructive spinal surgeries. He also offers vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty and surgical treatment for complex spinal fractures, according to a press release. “Our practice is fortunate to gain Dr. Valdes,” Dr. Anthony K. Hedley, M.S., founder and orthopaedic surgeon of Hedley Orthopaedic Institute, said in the release. “Dr. Valdes uses bone-producing, stem-cell-based techniques that help improve spinal fusions during surgery, which ultimately helps to stabilize areas of the spine that cause back and neck pain.” Dr. Valdes completed his orthopaedic residency and fellowship training in spine surgery at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. He specializes in orthopaedic trauma. Hedley Orthopaedic Institute’s Mesa site is at 10238 E. Hampton Ave. Suite 301A.
